Contains several documents relating to the 14th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment's involvements in the Battle of Shiloh, April 6-7, 1862, and the Battle of Corinth, October 3-4, 1862; a letter from General J.G. Foster about landing of troops on Roanoke Island, February 14, 1862; and a request for Colonel John Hancock to join the Invalid Corps. Also includes: a letter to E.B. Quiner regarding his Military History of Wisconsin (1865, includes typescript); two letters to Hancock recounting events of the Civil War (1883, 1889, include typescripts).
